An Invitation To Serve

Be a part of the growing membership of volunteers in Linn and Benton Counties. Stay active, stay involved, and make a difference!

What is RSVP?

RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) is a nationwide network of active, older adults contributing their time and experience to vital community programs. A program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, RSVP is sponsored locally by CSC. 

Linn-Benton RSVP strives to:
  • Empower seniors and retirees to share their knowledge and skills through volunteer service.
  • Support groups and agencies requiring volunteer staffing.
  • Create partnerships to provide for unmet community needs.

Who are RSVP Volunteers?
Persons 55 and older can be RSVP volunteers and need not be retired. Over 800 of your friends and neighbors, in Linn and Benton counties connect with over 200 agencies offering needed services, building a legacy, and finding the lasting satisfaction of making a difference.

RSVP Signature Programs
Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA): Free assistance with Medicare related insurance questions for seniors and persons with disabilities.
Senior Peer Counseling: Seniors helping seniors. A free in-home consultation program. Free short-term and confidential peer counseling for difficult transitional times.
AARP Tax-Aide: IRS trained volunteer tax counseling and tax preparation. 

An Invitation to Serve - Make the connection to your community today. As an RSVP volunteer you will be part of a powerful force that in a typical year: 

  • Assists 990 Medicare clients through SHIBA, the Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance program.
  • Tutors/mentors children through SMART, Foster Grandparents and many worthy programs.
  • Serves meals to seniors through Meals-on-Wheels and nine Senior Nutrition Sites.
  • Files over 3,350 federal income tax returns for residents of Linn and Benton Counties.
  • Inspects the homes of seniors and installs smoke detectors, deadbolt locks and other safety/security devices.
  • Provides 115,000 hours of volunteer service to Linn and Benton counties, an in-kind value of $2,500,000.00!
